DEERFIELD BEACH, Fla. — Due to the fact that he was unable to free himself from his vehicle after it overturned at Deerfield Beach, a guy is now in a severe condition.
At 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, a call was sent to the Broward Sheriff’s Fire Rescue describing an accident that had occurred near SW 10th Street.
When the firemen arrived, they saw a white pick-up vehicle that had apparently collided with a tree and looked to have lost control.
The patient was reportedly badly entrapped, and the dashboard was pressing down on his legs, confining him inside the vehicle, according to the firefighters.
It was judged by the crew that the individual could only be extracted using machinery. The technique of extrication involves making use of hydraulic equipment in order to remove pieces of the car that are encircling the victim.
Because of this, firemen are able to continue treating the victim’s injuries while still completing the laborious process of safely removing the patient and preventing additional harm.
The individual was reported to be in serious condition by fire rescue, which prompted firemen to begin treatment as soon as possible in an effort to stop his condition from becoming even more severe.
As the process of extrication progressed, emergency medical technicians were forced to give the patient several units of blood in order to maintain oxygen flow to his important organs.
