One Dead and One Injured in Violent Car Chase in Palm Beach County!

WEST PALM BEACH —The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said one person was killed and another was hurt early Tuesday morning when the people in two cars started shooting at each other.

Investigators say that the people in the cars were driving on Westgate Avenue near Congress Avenue around 12:30 a.m. when they started shooting at each other, causing one car to lose control and crash into a utility pole.

The deputies found a dead man nearby and a badly damaged car just north of the junction. On the 1000 block of Congress, the other car was found empty. PBSO said it had damage to the front end and several bullet holes.

Investigators say that the person who died was in the car that hit the power pole. A second person who was shot was taken to the hospital for treatment of an arm wound.

It wasn’t clear if that person had anything to do with either of the cars.

PBSO did not say the names of the two people who were shot or talk about why the attack happened.

According to the PBSO report, unidentified people were seen getting out of the car that lost control and running away to the east as unnamed people, who are thought to have been in the other car, shot at them.

Investigators are asking anyone who knows anything about what happened to speak up.

Crime Stoppers of Palm Beach County can be reached at 800-458-TIPS (8477). People can give tips without giving their names using the “See Something” tool on the PBSO app for smartphones.
