Kyle R. Dougherty, 30, was the driver who died, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.
Palm Beach County Fire Rescue said that units were sent to the intersection of Crestwood Boulevard and Southern Boulevard at 4:40 a.m. on Thursday after 911 calls said that a big truck and a small car had crashed in a T-bone style.
According to the crash report, Dougherty was driving west on State Road 80 in a 2018 Honda HRV when he tried to turn left and go south on Forest Hill Boulevard.
Jorge E. Fallas Abarca, 53, was driving car 2 on State Road 80. He was getting close to where it meets Forest Hill Boulevard.
As Vehicle-2, a 2016 Peterbuilt semi-truck, tried to get into the intersection, Dougherty turned into the semi-truck’s direction of travel, which was against its right of way.
PBSO says that during the crash, the semi-truck hit the side of Dougherty’s Honda that was facing the passenger.
