Orange County Shooting Claims One Life, Suspect Under Arrest

In February, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man in connection with a deadly shooting on Orange Blossom Trail.

On Feb. 24, deputies went to 6420 N. Orange Blossom Trail after a shooting was reported. They found one person with non-life-threatening injuries and another with a gunshot wound to the chest.

The man with the chest wound, identified as Onel Lynch, was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center. Despite undergoing surgery for several hours, Lynch didn’t survive.

Now, 29-year-old Ricky Harley Jr. has been arrested in connection with the shooting and is charged with second-degree homicide.

According to the arrest affidavit, Harley Jr. was allegedly involved in work, lived, and sold cannabis at a used appliance store on OBT. Investigators found a spent buckshot shell and a shotgun in the business, along with other evidence, according to OCSO Night Violent Crimes Detectives.

The affidavit also mentions that Lynch, before his death, told the Orange County Sheriff’s Office that Harley was the one who shot him.
