A dog owner in Orange County has been apprehended following a severe dog attack on another individual, this time involving a 9-year-old boy.
Legal records indicate that Ashley Bearden declined to surrender her dogs to law enforcement after they were classified as dangerous, resulting in her being charged for the dog attacks.
A visit to an automobile dealership concluded with a 9-year-old boy requiring medical attention.
“Then dogs came out after my son,” Ary Neto stated.
Neto mentioned that he was departing from the car dealership with his kids when the assault took place.
“My son ran around the car two women came out trying to get the dogs,” he said. “It was a lot of dogs. Very violent.”
According to records, the three dogs that harmed Neto’s son were classified as hazardous animals by Orange County Animal Services the previous year, following a prior aggressive incident.
Court records we came across indicate that she has received citations in the past for previous dog assaults, failing to vaccinate her dogs, and inadequate control, resulting in severe injuries to others.
“He has three stitches on his butt,” Neto said. “He was also bit on the leg.”
Ashley Bearden is the owner of the dogs. On Tuesday, she was taken into custody after evading authorities for several months and refusing to surrender her dogs.
“He’s afraid and sees other dogs,” Neto stated. “He has trauma whenever he sees other dogs.”
According to Bearden’s arrest records, it was mandated that the dogs be removed promptly and kept for a duration of 10 days before any consideration of euthanasia. Bearden would have been granted a 10-day window to file an appeal.
Bearden is currently confronted with charges pertaining to her dogs causing harm and engaging in an attack.
The arrest documents reveal that authorities attempted to approach Bearden for her surrender, along with her dogs, but she declined.
During one such attempt, it was discovered that individuals in her residence were under investigation for attempted murder.
