Pedestrian Suffers Injury as Garbage Truck Hits Them in Tampa Parking Lot

TAMPA, Florida — A pedestrian was taken to the hospital in Tampa on Tuesday morning after being hurt in an accident with a garbage truck and which occurred earlier that morning.

Officers were sent to the Advanced Auto Parts shop on West Hillsborough Avenue shortly before 5 o’clock in the morning.

The Tampa Police Department reports that emergency workers located a person who could not be identified laying in the middle of the parking lot with injuries to their legs. The victim was unconscious. The paramedics from the Tampa Fire Rescue Department drove them to the hospital after they were injured.

The driver of the garbage truck reportedly remained at the scene and was cooperative with the investigation throughout its whole, as reported by the police in Tampa.

The police chose not to comment on what they believe led the pedestrian to be struck by the truck, but they did say that the victim was injured. An investigation into the incident has reportedly been launched by the Tampa police department.
