“We don’t want any acts of violence in our community,” said Tallahassee Police Chief Lawrence Revell.
There was a shooting just a few feet from the state building.
Police in Tallahassee have confirmed that someone drove to the Envision Credit Union parking lot at 11:15 this morning.
Two people, a guy and a woman, were shot in that car.
TPD has not said how the suspect and the victims knew each other.
Chief Revels said that TPD has no reason to think this was an act of violence done for no reason. Also, the three people never got inside Envision Credit Union, and there was no sign that they tried to rob the place.
Revell said that after the killing, several law enforcement agencies were there right away, and he was grateful for their hard work.
“You never know, so it will make you very careful,” Chidi Omah said.
Chidi Omah works near where the killing happened. She says that crimes like this don’t happen very often, but that law enforcement could do more to stop something like this from happening again.
“They could definitely go to more places, especially companies and other places like that. Omah said, “To make sure we’re safe and nothing crazy is going on.”
Even though some people were unaffected and don’t plan to change their daily lives because of this killing.
“It doesn’t bother me too much, but it is strange. Charlie Routt said, “I wish I had brought my gun to work with me today.”
