Police Seize Marijuana from Unlicensed Colombian in BMW

Texas Man Sentenced for $2.6 Million Food Stamp Theft Across North Texas

At a nearby apartment building, an unlicensed Colombian driver in a BMW was taken into custody with marijuana.

According to an arrest report from the Lady Lake Police Department, Jair Orlando Ayala Sierra, 26, of Orlando, was operating the gray BMW at around 8:15 p.m. on Saturday when he ran a red light at Rolling Acres Road and County Road 466. At Rolling Acres Apartments, a traffic stop was started.

Ayala Sierra acknowledged he didn’t have a driver’s license, but the officer couldn’t talk with him without a Spanish interpreter due to a linguistic barrier.

According to Ayala Sierra, he is from Colombia and has been residing in Orlando for almost three years. He carried no passport with him.

The officer spotted a burnt rolled cigarette in the center console cupholder and smelled marijuana coming from the car.

According to the investigation, Ayala Sierra made an effort to hide the marijuana cigarette by using a Styrofoam cup. He was discovered to possess 3.6 grams of marijuana overall.

Ayala Sierra was taken into custody on suspicion of possessing marijuana and operating a vehicle without a license. He received a ticket for running a red light as well.

After posting a $1,500 bond, he was released from the Lake County Jail where he had been lodged.
