WEST PARK, Fla. — The deadly shooting of an 18-year-old guy occurred as he was riding his electric scooter in West Park.
The Broward Sheriff’s Office said that reports of a gunshot were received by dispatch soon after 7 p.m. on Saturday near the intersection of SW 30th Street and SW40th Avenue.
On the side of the road, when the cops arrived, they discovered the victim, 18-year-old Kyandre Johnbaptiste, suffering from a gunshot wound.
Johnbaptiste was transported to Memorial Regional Hospital by Broward Fire Rescue, but after he was there, the medical professionals declared him dead.
Johnbaptiste was riding an electric scooter when he was shot and slumped on the roadside, according to witnesses who spoke to homicide and crime scene investigators who investigated the scene.
