Sunrise Intersection Collision Results in Death and Hospitalization

SUNRISE, FLA. – A fatal collision occurred in Sunrise, resulting in the death of one individual and the hospitalization of another.

Emergency responders from the Sunrise Police and fire rescue teams reached the incident site at the intersection of Sunrise Boulevard and Northwest 136th Avenue, close to the Sawgrass Mills Mall, on Friday morning.

Aerial footage from 7Skyforce revealed the aftermath of the accident, with one of the involved vehicles ending up on the opposite side of the road.

As reported by Sunrise Fire Rescue, one of the victims was airlifted to the trauma center at Broward Health Medical Center, while the second victim was taken to the same facility by ground transportation.

Regrettably, the airlifted driver was pronounced deceased at the hospital. However, the second driver’s condition is expected to improve.

No additional injuries were recorded in connection with the incident.

For a period, the roadway was closed to facilitate the removal of the wrecked vehicle and the clearing of debris resulting from the collision. Subsequently, the road has been reopened.
