TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Florida Highway Patrol says a 17-year-old girl died Friday morning when the car she was driving flipped over several times on Dover Road in Havana, Florida.
Near Dupont Road, three women were driving south on the road when the 19-year-old driver turned left, flipping the white car over several times, said FHP Public Information Officer Patricia Jefferson-Shaw. At this point, we don’t know why she changed lanes.
Jefferson-Shaw said that when cops came, just after 9 a.m., a 17-year-old girl who was in the trunk was found dead. The driver and a 24-year-old passenger in the front seat were taken to Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare in “serious condition,” the PIO said.
At this point, it’s not clear what the women had to do with whether or not they were wearing seatbelts. FHP did not say the name of the person who died at this time.
The road was closed briefly between Dupont Road and Shady Rest Road on Friday morning as first responders came to investigate and help.
