Troopers said a collision that occurred early in the morning in Orange County resulted in the death of a 78-year-old man from Orlando.
At around 5:20 in the morning, the collision took place close to where State Road 527 and Stratemeyer Drive join.
According to the findings of the investigation, a Kia Soul was approaching State Road 527 while heading westbound on Stratemeyer Drive in the left lane.
During this time, a Hyundai Sonata was attempting to make a left turn onto State Route 527 when it suddenly veered across the lanes and into the path of the Kia Soul.
Both the driver of the Sonata and the passenger were sent to the hospital with injuries that were not considered to be life-threatening.
At the site of the accident, the driver of the Soul, who was 78 years old, was declared dead.
The road was closed for a few hours as state troopers conducted their investigation, but it is now open again.
The cause of this accident has not yet been determined.
