According to authorities, a man suspected of street racing struck an SUV in Grand Prairie on Saturday, killing four people.

A press release from the Grand Prairie Police Department states that the collision occurred on South Belt Line Road close to Kingston Drive at approximately 8:15 p.m.

A Chevy Traverse traveling north on Belt Line had five occupants. Police said that the Traverse collided with a red Dodge Charger when it turned left onto Kingston.

According to authorities, four persons in the Traverse died in a hospital and three died at the spot. There was a fifth Traverse passenger who was critically ill.

The victims are a family of five, according to family members. Jessie Rosales, the father, Lorena Rosales, the mother, Stephanie Rosales, the daughter, age 13, and Angel Rosales, age 6, all passed away.

Their son, Anthony Rosales, 17, is the sixth patient in the intensive care unit.

“We’re just trying to see if he’s gonna be able to survive and I just want the best for him,” Jessie’s sister Delia Rosales stated. “We cannot believe it. We’re still waiting for my brother to come by. He doesn’t show up,” she stated.

Her brother, in her words, is the pillar of their family.

“We were always together. Traveling together. Basically. We were all a united family,” she stated.

Witnesses reportedly told police that the Charger was racing a Dodge Charger Daytona and speeding. After the collision, the Daytona left the area, according to the police.

Nearby, Yvette Acosta was filling gas when everything occurred.

Mesa is accused with manslaughter, aggravated assault with a dangerous weapon, racing on a highway causing serious bodily injury, and racing on a highway causing death.

The driver of the Charger Daytona that fled the scene of the collision was eventually located by the police.

According to authorities, Anthony Morales, 22, is accused of racing on a roadway that results in death and racing on a highway that results in serious bodily injury. The Rosales family will have to deal with this tragic reality.
