An investigation has been opened by the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office after the body of a lady was discovered inside a vehicle near 100 Kings Street.
The body of the woman was found inside a vehicle parked in a parking lot at approximately 7:10 a.m. on Monday, according to the detectives who investigated the case.
At the site, personnel from the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department determined that she was deceased.
At this time, members of the Homicide and Crime Scene sections of the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office are collaborating with the State Attorney’s Office to carry out a comprehensive investigation.
Investigators are seeking to determine the identity of the deceased woman as well as any potential witnesses who may have knowledge on her passing.
At this point, there are no injuries that can be linked to the manner in which the person passed away.
There is one person of interest who is currently being held by law enforcement and is cooperating with investigators.
