WTXL’s Elizabeth Copeland has become a beloved meteorologist for viewers in Tallahassee, Florida, since she joined the team in August 2022. Recently, viewers noticed that she was missing from her regular newscasts, prompting concern about her whereabouts.
Copeland recently updated her viewers, explaining that she had suffered a shoulder dislocation while playing golf on March 29, 2023.
She underwent surgery on April 1, 2023, and is currently recovering. Copeland will be away from the newscasts for three more weeks, during which time WTXL’s chief meteorologist Casanova Nurse will provide the latest weather forecasts.
The meteorologist received well wishes from viewers via her social media accounts, and she is expected to fully recover and return to WTXL soon.
Copeland’s previous work includes reporting on various natural disasters, including floods and wildfires, in the Rocky Mountains and Rocky Mountain Front while working with KRTV News in Great Falls, Montana, and KPAX News in Missoula.
Before that, she worked at CNN for four years after graduating with a BS in Communications from Georgia’s Kennesaw State University in 2013.
