A 33-year-old man was charged with attempted murder by the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office after he allegedly shoved a woman over the Metro train lines in Pasadena.

The A (Gold) Line platform above North Allen Avenue was the scene of the alleged incident on August 7 at roughly 5:30 a.m. Juan Pablo Flores, the culprit, is accused of abusing the woman and throwing her onto the rails.

According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, the suspect seized the victim once more and pulled her through the cement divider and into the 210 Freeway’s carpool lane. She was lucky to get away and made it back to the platform.

Not long after the attack, Flores was taken into custody by police. He faces charges on one count each of mayhem and attempted murder. He might receive a life term in prison. Instead of posting a $2 million bail, he will stay behind bars.

“No one should have to endure such brutality, and everyone deserves to go about their day without fear for their safety,” District Attorney George Gascón stated. “We will not tolerate violence on our transit system and will continue holding those responsible fully accountable for their actions.”

The woman was taken to the hospital by the Pasadena Police Department and was listed as stable.

“Our thoughts are with the victim and her loved ones as she begins her journey toward recovery following this horrific attack,” District Attorney Gascón stated.
