LAKE CITY, Fla. – The name of the person whose body was found in Lake City has been announced by the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office.
Shawn Waldron, who lived in Lake City and was 32 years old, was found dead in the woods near Northeast Gum Swamp Road on April 11. Notifications have been sent to the next of kin.
At this time, deputies are not saying anything else about the probe. Detectives are asking anyone who knows anything to call them at (386)758-1095.
“It’s never easy to tell a family that someone they care about has died,” Sheriff Mark Hunter said in a statement. “We will keep the victim’s family in our thoughts and prayers as we work to bring this case to a close.”
