WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — The Environmental Crimes Unit of the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office (PBSO), together with other environmental organizations and Waste Management, is asking for the public’s cooperation in providing information about unlawful dumping.

The sheriff’s office said that it is a criminal crime that presents major threats to public health, ecosystems, and the overall well-being of others, in addition to the waste mounds being an eyesore and a nuisance in general.

Photos were given by the sheriff’s office that demonstrated the detrimental impacts of unlawful dumping around the county.

The act of dumping garbage by the side of the road may have disastrous implications, including the contamination of the soil and fauna, as well as the pollution of the water and general health.

According to the sheriff’s office, it is essential to put a stop to the practice of unlawful dumping to protect the environment for the sake of future generations.
