Palm Springs Man Convicted of First-Degree Murder in 2018 Shooting Case

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — A man from Palm Springs has been found guilty of first-degree murder after he shot and killed a man and a woman in 2018.

The suspect, Hipolito Jesus Fraguela, 38, was arrested for the murders of Crystal Riviera, 20, and Justin Moyer, 33.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office (PBSO) reported that the shooting took place at the intersection of Okeechobee Blvd. and Military Trail at around 3:18 a.m. on June 4, 2018.

According to deputies, Fraguela shot the victims multiple times inside their Chevrolet. The incident also resulted in injuries to other individuals present at the scene.

On Thursday, Fraguela was convicted of first-degree murder with a firearm and second-degree attempted murder at the Palm Beach County Courthouse.

Fraguela has a prior criminal record, having been previously convicted of aggravated child abuse and being a two-time felon.

Sentencing for Fraguela has been scheduled for August 17 at 2:30 p.m.
