TAMPA, Fla. – On Friday, deputies from Hillsborough County made an arrest that led to the capture of a gang leader, according to the sheriff’s office.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office stated that they searched a residence on Illinois Drive in the city of Tampa.
Henry Norton Jr., age 33, was reportedly taken into custody by deputies during the search. The sheriff’s office has stated that Norton was “a known leader of the Munyunn gang.”
According to the sheriff’s office, the leader was detained on multiple accusations, including armed trafficking in fentanyl (14 to 28 grams), felon in possession of a handgun, keeping a public nuisance structure for drug activity, possession of cocaine, and possession of cannabis. Other allegations include keeping a public nuisance structure for drug activity.
In addition, he was taken into custody on outstanding warrants for fentanyl trafficking, distribution of a controlled drug in excess of 10 grams, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, discharging a firearm on residential property, delivery of cannabis, and failure to pay child support. All of these charges were related to him.
Zuli Holt, who is 32 years old and has been charged with possession of cocaine and armed trafficking in fentanyl, was also taken into custody by the deputies.
“The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is committed to removing dangerous individuals and organizations from our streets, and yesterday’s operation is a testament to that commitment,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister after the operation was completed.
“I want to commend the hardworking men and women of our Gang Unit and SWAT team for their dedication and professionalism in executing this search warrant and making these arrests,” said the commander of the Gang Unit. “I want to thank everyone for their help.”
