Palm Beach County Motorcycle Accident Claims Life of 39-Year-Old Rider

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — A tragic incident occurred on Okeechobee Blvd resulting in the death of a 39-year-old man who was riding a motorcycle.

According to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office (PBSO), Wayne Doucet was traveling on Okeechobee Boulevard around 4:26 a.m. when his motorcycle collided with a 2015 Volvo semi-truck.

The PBSO investigation reveals that the motorcycle was heading westbound in the second lane of Okeechobee Blvd.

Meanwhile, the Volvo semi-truck, driven by Chrystan Alvarez-Camacho, was making an eastbound turn onto Okeechobee Blvd from the Florida Turnpike.

At the time of the accident, the motorcycle had a red traffic signal, while the Volvo had a green light.

Reportedly, the motorcycle failed to stop at the red light and struck the Volvo from behind at the fuel tank, specifically at the steer axle of the semi-tractor. Both vehicles came to a stop at the intersection.

Emergency services promptly transported Doucet to St. Mary’s Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 5:08 a.m. The PBSO has notified the next of kin about the tragic incident.
