West Palm Beach Shooting Leaves Man Dead and Woman Critically Injured

WEST PALM BEACH — A male individual has passed away, and a female is in a critical state after a shooting on Wednesday afternoon at an apartment complex in West Palm Beach, as reported by the city police.

The identities of the shooting victims were not revealed by investigators, in accordance with a 2018 state constitutional amendment similar to California’s Marsy’s Law.

This amendment enables crime victims or their families to ask for their names to be kept confidential in public reports.

Police officers arrived shortly after 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday in response to gunfire at the Vue at 1400 apartment complex, located near Village Boulevard.

They discovered a 26-year-old man deceased and a 25-year-old woman with serious injuries. An update on the woman’s condition was not provided as of Thursday morning.

According to West Palm Beach police spokesperson Mike Jachles, the shooting seemed to be a deliberate attack.

On Thursday, officers found approximately 20 shell casings from various caliber firearms. Numerous vehicles in a parking lot were hit, but no additional injuries were reported.

As of Thursday, investigators were actively pursuing multiple leads, according to Jachles.
