Amazon is building a shipping center in Leon County, and the first hiring process has already started.
More than a thousand full-time jobs are scheduled to be made in the 630,000-square-foot space near the Tallahassee Automobile Museum. In a recent tweet, Leon County Commissioner Brian Welch said that they are now hiring and getting ready to open.
We asked Amazon for more information about the jobs they are hiring for at the moment.
Owen Torres, a spokesperson for Amazon, wrote in an email answer that the company was just starting to build its hiring and leadership team for the Tallahassee fulfillment center. As we get closer to starting later this year, we will work with local partners and community groups to hold job fairs in the area to help fill more than 1,000 hourly jobs.
Leon County says that more than 1,000 full-time jobs will pay at least $15 an hour and offer benefits from the first day.
