Following the death of a man shot outside a liquor store in Hawthorne, authorities confirmed that detectives with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department are still looking for the persons responsible.
At approximately 9:30 p.m. on Monday, there were reports of gunfire in the area of W. El Segundo and Crenshaw Boulevards. It was discovered by the police that a man had been shot while strolling through the parking lot.
A patrol officer from Hawthorne Police was in the area when the shooting occurred, according to LASD officials, and he pursued the automobile of the alleged gunman.
That vehicle eventually gave up, allowing the officer to hold one person. Authorities said that there are still a number of suspects out there but did not clarify whether the individual was a suspect.
The victim’s and the detainee’s names have not yet been made public. The shooting victim was pronounced dead at the site by paramedics.
