A man was accused of manslaughter on Thursday following the discovery of a deceased woman in a Tampa residence over the weekend.
According to Tampa law enforcement, they received a call at 9:37 a.m. on Sunday regarding a woman in her 30s found deceased in the 3300 block of East Frierson Avenue.
The victim’s children sought assistance from an acquaintance and dialed 911.
In the course of the inquiry, officers revealed that the suspect, 43-year-old Freddie Adams, Jr., had been apprehended a few days earlier for a domestic battery incident involving the same woman and was presently held in Falkenburg Jail.
Authorities stated that the domestic violence occurrence occurred at approximately 11:50 p.m. on Friday, October 13. They reported that the victim sustained noticeable facial injuries, including a laceration.
On the evening of the incident, the victim informed Tampa Fire Rescue that she didn’t wish to go to the hospital for a medical evaluation. She was discovered deceased on Sunday morning.
The medical examiner established that the woman’s demise was a result of a blunt head injury and the injuries she sustained during the Friday episode.
Tampa police disclosed that Adams was apprehended on Friday, having been found near the residence. He was taken into custody and charged with battery.
On Thursday, the charges against Adams were elevated to manslaughter. He remains incarcerated in Falkenburg Jail.
