ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — After their boat flipped over near St. Petersburg, three people were saved.
The U.S. Coast Guard said that a good Samaritan told workers on Friday afternoon that the ship was sinking. When help came, they pulled the three to safety on board.
People were trying to pull up the anchor when the boat suddenly flipped over, according to the crew.
An official with the Coast Guard said that the Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacon (EPIRB) helped crews find the boaters who were trapped.
“If the boat had an EPIRB on board, we would have known right away that they were in trouble. OS2 Drucker said, “We were very lucky that someone found them so far from shore.”
