Orlando Murder Suspect Dies from Injuries During New Jersey Arrest

ORLANDO, Fla. — A suspect wanted for a murder in Orlando has died from injuries sustained during his arrest in New Jersey.

According to the Orlando police, they received a call around 7 p.m. on July 7 reporting a shooting incident on Raper Dairy Road in the 2000 block.

Upon arrival, they discovered a woman, identified as Leonidas Duran, aged 67, lying on the grass with a gunshot wound and lacerations. Her husband was also found in the doorway with a gunshot wound.

Unfortunately, Duran was pronounced dead at the scene, while her husband was rushed to the hospital for treatment.

The suspect was identified as Esteban De Jesus Jr., a 56-year-old adult son of the victim’s next-door neighbor. He was located by the U.S. Marshals Task Force on July 8 in Jersey City, New Jersey.

During the arrest, the suspect sustained injuries and was taken to Jersey City Medical Center. Despite receiving medical treatment, he ultimately succumbed to his injuries, as stated by the Orlando police.

The arrest is currently being investigated by the New Jersey Office of the Attorney General.
