PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. — Investigators from the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office have apprehended a suspect in a shooting incident that occurred on Tuesday morning in unincorporated Jupiter. The incident resulted in a woman being wounded by gunfire.

The individual taken into custody is Jose Malagon, aged 59. He faces charges of attempted murder with a firearm, sexual battery with a firearm, and false imprisonment.

At approximately 6:18 a.m., law enforcement deputies responded to reports of a shooting at the Marino Apartments on Mallard Cove Road, in the 200 block. Upon arrival, it was discovered that a man was present inside the apartment with the injured woman.

The Sheriff’s Office communicated with the man, and during this interaction, he agreed to surrender. It remains unclear if this individual is indeed Jose Malagon, the individual who was later arrested in connection with the shooting.

Upon entering the apartment, law enforcement discovered a woman who had sustained an apparent gunshot wound. Emergency responders from Palm Beach County Fire Rescue arrived at the scene, providing medical treatment to the wounded woman before transporting her to a nearby hospital.

Authorities have confirmed that all individuals involved in the incident have been identified and located. The investigation into the matter is currently ongoing.
