Pinellas County Sheriff's Office Apprehends Suspects in Oldsmar Robbery Incident

OLDSMAR, Fla. – Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office Detectives from the Crimes Against Children Unit have apprehended an adult male and three underage individuals for a robbery incident in Oldsmar.

According to the investigators, on June 14, 2023, at around 10:00 p.m., deputies were hailed near the intersection of US Highway 19 and Tampa Road by a 15-year-old named Christian Cruz. He informed them that his two friends had been stabbed and needed help.

The deputies found two individuals, identified as 15-year-old Jalen Stephens and 20-year-old Julian Moore, with stab wounds. They were transported to the hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.

During the initial inquiry, another juvenile, 16-year-old Camden Drachbar, dialed 911 and reported that he had arranged a meeting in the parking lot of 3675 Tampa Road in Oldsmar to sell marijuana. During the drug transaction, the individuals attacked him and stole a handgun that was inside his backpack.

Throughout the investigation, detectives discovered that Drachbar had arrived at the designated parking lot to sell marijuana to three individuals he had connected with on Snapchat.

Detectives explain that as Drachbar was conversing with the individuals inside a vehicle, another person approached him from behind and forcibly hugged him. This individual then tossed him into the vehicle, causing him to hit his forehead, and subsequently threw him to the ground.

After Drachbar was thrown to the ground, Stephens took his backpack and removed both the marijuana and firearm from it. Stephens dropped the gun on the ground and engaged in a physical altercation with Drachbar.

During the scuffle, Drachbar drew a knife and stabbed Stephens and Moore. Moore then picked up the firearm from the ground and brought it into the car as they departed from the scene.
