RIVIERA BEACH, Fla. — During April, the Riviera Beach Police Department made significant progress toward its goal of reducing gun violence in the city.
The Active Criminal Enforcement (ACE) program of the police department claims to have been successful in reducing gun crime by taking 26 firearms off the streets.
The Riviera Beach Police Department was successful in making 18 arrests, recovering $1,450 in cash, and seizing 26 firearms during April.
The arrest report for one individual was reportedly sent to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) for further investigation and possible federal prosecution.
According to the police, a number of the suspects they apprehended had prior felony convictions and will likely spend lengthy jail terms. The VICE team from the Riviera Beach Police Department assisted with a number of the arrests.
