A young male tragically lost his life following a shooting incident in the Sandalwood neighborhood of Jacksonville. The shooting transpired during the afternoon on Java Drive in the 10700 block.
At the scene, the police discovered the victim, who was unresponsive, and upon the arrival of the Jacksonville Fire Rescue Department, the victim was pronounced dead.
Initially, the motive behind the shooting remained unclear.
However, subsequent reports indicated that an altercation had occurred prior to the shooting, resulting in multiple gunshots being fired.
Detectives are currently examining surveillance footage from nearby residences, which includes evidence of several bullet casings.
During the course of their investigation, the police apprehended an individual who may be linked to the incident.
The Sheriff’s Office reassured the community of their safety by confirming the arrest of all individuals involved.
They also urged any potential witnesses to come forward and assist with the investigation, either by contacting them directly or providing anonymous tips to Crime Stoppers.
