A lady was discovered dead early on Monday morning, and the Tampa Police Department is looking into a possible homicide.
Around 8:04 a.m., according to the officers, they discovered the woman’s body in the 5700 block of North Nebraska Avenue. When our crew arrived on the site, 8 On Your Side noticed crime scene tape encircling the Iglesia de Dios Church of God.
The victim suffered from upper body damage, according to a TPD announcement. Still, detectives are attempting to piece together her circumstances.
Working in the vicinity, Dr. Jeffrey Johnson learned of the crime.
“It’ s horrible, this has become too much of a norm for the East Tampa and Seminole Heights community,” Johnson stated.
The woman’s identify won’t be disclosed at this time until her nearest of kin have been informed.
“As a pastor for the last 23 years, it breaks my heart that someone could have that level of distain and disrespect for the house of God to leave someone there, let alone murder someone,” Johnson stated.
