According to authorities, a man from Tampa was shot early on Sunday morning and died as a result.
Deputies were summoned to the Royal Palm Key Apartments at 2:04 a.m. due to a reported shooting, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.
When they got there, they discovered 24-year-old Brayan Rivera Garcia with a chest gunshot wound. After being taken by deputies to a nearby hospital, the man passed away there.
The man and his girlfriend resided at the apartment complex, according to the sheriff’s office.
The girlfriend reported the shooting to 911. The home was reportedly occupied at the time by four youngsters under the age of thirteen.
“Our detectives are leaving no stone unturned to determine the events that led to this senseless violence,” Sheriff Chad Chronister stated.
