USF Football Player Arrested for Choking Victim in Domestic Fight!

TAMPA, Fla. —A USF football player is being charged with domestic battery after officers say he choked the victim during a fight.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office said that Michel Dukes, 22, was accused of assaulting the victim on Saturday.

After looking into the case, officers said that Dukes and the victim got into a physical fight. At some point, the fight got physical at the home of the victim in the 4300 block of Shire Court.

Deputies said that Dukes began to choke the victim.

The sheriff’s office said officers found out that Dukes is a student at USF and plays football for the school.

“I applaud this victim for coming forward,” Sheriff Chad Chronister said. “We do not accept domestic abuse. This kind of action never has a good reason or justification. Our Victim Advocates will make sure this person has access to all possible help.”

Dukes are being charged with domestic abuse by strangling, which is a crime. All people who are victims of domestic abuse can get help and find tools.
