West Palm Beach Launches SaferWatch App to Revolutionize Crime Reporting!

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — If you notice something, you really ought to say something about it! As the West Palm Beach Police Department prepares to launch a new app in advance of Sunfest this coming weekend, this is the message that they want to get out to the public.

The name of the application is SaferWatch, and anybody may send police images, videos, or even live streams of themselves using it by just downloading it for free onto their mobile devices.

“The timing could not have been better, we are going to have a ton of people enjoying our waterfront, and almost everyone has a cell phone,” said the Mayor of West Palm Beach, Keith James. “The timing could not have been better.”

At a press conference held on Wednesday, West Palm Beach Police Chief Frank Adderley was present, and he expressed his hope that the app will also assist law enforcement in addressing one of his primary concerns, which is the rise in the number of violent crimes.

“When you look at the technology we have and the people that engage in reporting those crimes, you have 60% of people reporting those crimes, but 40% are not,” said Adderley.
