After being arrested for attempted murder and arson by Miami-Dade police in November of last year, a woman who had previously been imprisoned for the same offenses has now been charged with sexual battery.
Destiny Lenai Johnson, 26, is charged with sexually abusing a fellow prisoner at the county’s Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center over the weekend. She has been detained there since December 4, 2023, and is currently awaiting trial.
Johnson, who was 25 at the time, was charged with lighting a man she had met on Tinder on fire after they had crossed paths on November 25, 2023, outside the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Kendall East, which is located at 11520 N. Kendall Drive. In addition, she is charged with lighting the man’s automobile on fire.
The sexual battery occurred on Saturday, according to Miami-Dade police.
Just before 7:30 p.m., according to the arrest report, the woman was taking a shower when Johnson went into her stall “and touched her breast and vagina.”
Following Johnson’s alleged kissing of the victim’s “pubic area,” other prisoners allegedly noticed and reported the incident to correctional personnel, who subsequently separated and moved the two prisoners.

On Monday, a court determined that Johnson had sufficient evidence to face one allegation of sexual battery.
Regarding the initial incident that led to Johnson’s incarceration, she is still facing charges of attempted murder and arson. Prosecutors decided against pressing charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, according to Miami-Dade court records.
According to the documents, her trial hearing in that matter is set for August 12. As of Monday morning, Johnson was still being held at TGK without a bond.
