Swindlers on the internet were responsible for John McKendrick of West Palm Beach losing all of his money throughout his life.
McKendrick, who served in the United States Navy, claims that he was unaware of any red flags indicating the presence of an internet hoax.
When he checked his credit card statement in March, he discovered an unusual purchase that had been made. He claims that he was under the impression that it was Norton Security Protection.
He then phoned the business after looking for their contact information on the internet and finding it.
The individual who picked up the phone said that he need remote access to his computer to verify that their software had been successfully installed.
The guy on the other end of the line continues to explain that their program was not installed, but that they discovered “hackers.” McKendrick claims that he was able to persuade himself that he need their knowledge.
