Road Rage Shooting Incident Leads to Arrest in Palm Springs, Florida

PALM SPRINGS, Fla. — A woman has been taken into custody on several counts of firearms-related charges following an incident where she allegedly fired shots at multiple vehicles during a road rage confrontation.

On August 11th, around 3:45 p.m., officers from the Palm Springs Police Department (PSPD) received a report about a shooting incident at the intersection of Forest Hill Blvd and Kirk Road.

According to the authorities, multiple vehicles with occupants were targeted in this shooting, which stemmed from a road rage incident.

After an investigation that spanned several weeks, detectives pinpointed Megan Olivia Lewis as the individual responsible for the shooting. She was promptly apprehended based on a warrant connected to the aforementioned incident.

Lewis is facing charges of aggravated assault with a firearm, discharging a firearm from a vehicle, and shooting into an occupied vehicle.

A video was released by the police showing the moment Lewis was escorted to a patrol car.

The PSPD highlights that Florida ranks among the highest in the country for road rage incidents involving firearms, with aggressive driving accounting for 54 percent of all fatal motor vehicle accidents.

Law enforcement encourages drivers to immediately report instances of aggressive driving and to refrain from becoming directly involved in such situations.
