The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said that a 47-year-old man died early Saturday morning in a crash involving three cars.
West of West Palm Beach, in the 5400 block of Okeechobee Boulevard, just after 2 a.m., there was an accident that killed John Hosfield.
Deputies say that Hosfield was driving a 2016 Suzuki west on Okeechobee Boulevard at a high rate of speed when he got close to a 2022 Honda Civic driven by Michael Vargas, 32, of Coral Springs.
Mohammed Zahangir, who is 41 and from West Palm Beach, was driving west on Okeechobee Boulevard in a 2011 Honda Accord ahead of a Honda Civic.
Deputies said that the driver of the Suzuki changed lanes erratically in westbound traffic and moved into the Civic’s lane. The side of the Honda Civic was hit by the Suzuki.
Hosfield was thrown out of his car. At the scene, he was said to be dead.
The two other drivers were not hurt.
