Palm Tran wants to start running a fast bus from Port St. Lucie to downtown West Palm Beach. In an email to WPTV, Palm Tran Executive Director Clinton B. Forbes said that the service would be paid for in full by the Florida Department of Transportation.
Palm Tran said that the new test project would run between Port St. Lucie’s Gatlin Boulevard and the West Palm Beach Intermodal Transit Center at 150 Clearwater Drive.
Palm Tran says that the service would offer several 60-minute trips in coach-style cars with WIFI in the morning and afternoon.
A short poll is being used by the company that runs public transportation to find out how many people are interested in taking the Port St. Lucie Express. Palm Tran said that the information gathered will help finish up the details of the service that is being planned.
