Shocking 16-year-old Boy Arrested for Deadly Shooting in West Palm Beach!

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — A 16-year-old boy is now being tried as an adult for killing a guy in West Palm Beach with a gun.

According to the police report that CBS12 News got, Luis Angel Resendiz Gama was arrested and charged with second-degree murder for killing William Ronald Difonzo in the head while he was sitting in the car of his gray 2022 Chevrolet Tahoe.

Around 11:06 a.m. on April 1, the Meadowbrook Mobile Home Community called the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office to say that a person may have died in a car there.

On April 1, CBS12 News said that a dead guy was found in his car. On April 20, they said that a 16-year-old boy was arrested.

In the arrest report, it says that while cops were checking out the scene, they found multiple 9 mm gun shells on the driver’s, passenger’s, and back floorboards, as well as what they thought were drugs. PBSO detectives also found fresh blood on the passenger side of the car, on the sidewalk, on the vehicle’s outer step rail, and on the right hood.

The sheriff’s office says that the information shows that the suspect may have been hurt “during or after the murder.”

In the arrest report, it says that PBSO officers found a witness who said that a 2022 gray Chevy Tahoe had been parked in the parking lot since Friday, March 31. The witness said that at 12 p.m., they heard two gunshots and saw a man get out of the victim’s car from the front passenger side. The person ran toward a green pickup truck that was parked on the side of the victim’s car where the driver was sitting.

The suspect was a Hispanic man who was wearing shorts and white shoes, the police report said. The witness also said that the truck was “an older green two-door pickup truck that left the parking lot heading north and east toward the community’s exit.”

Using camera footage from the crime scene, deputies learned that the suspect’s car, a blue 2006 Chevy Colorado, arrived at the scene around 12:25 p.m. on March 31 and left at 12:37 p.m.

The car was registered to Gama’s mother, who lives in the Casa Del Monte Community, PBSO officers also found.

In the police record, it says that Gama’s parents told PBSO that their son was at school on Friday. The Palm Beach County School District Police told PBSO that Gama was not at school on that day.

PBSO officers also looked at the phone records of the victim and Gama and found that they had talked to each other several times before the murder on March 31, 2023.

On April 3, police got a warrant to search Gama’s home with his parents at 4844 23rd Lane. Gama had a bruise on his face that went across the bridge of his nose and under his eyes. On March 30, 2023, deputies also found black jean shorts with blood on them, several gun parts, what they thought was cocaine, several pairs of white shoes, and a letter.

“The letter talks about how the person who wrote it got into a fight with someone and got hurt in the face. “The letter was taken as evidence and is now being looked at to see if it is real,” says the police report.

According to the police record, Gama killed a person by shooting him in the head, which is against the law.
