The Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office said that early Sunday morning, three men were found shot in their car in West Palm Beach. One of the men died, another was hurt, and the third was not hurt.

Around 1:30 a.m., deputies on patrol in the 2800 block of North Military Trail, north of Okeechobee Boulevard near West Palm Beach, heard what sounded like gunshots. However, when they got there, they didn’t find any victims, according to a news release from the sheriff’s office.

Shortly after that, West Palm Beach police and the Florida Highway Patrol called sheriff’s dispatchers to say that shooting victims were found in a car on northbound I-95 just south of 45th Street.

The man who was hurt was taken to a hospital, but his injuries were not life-threatening. Barbera said that the man who wasn’t hurt told deputies that he and the others were in the area of the shopping center where gunshots were heard.

Police are looking into the shooting as a possible murder. At this point, neither the suspects nor the reason are known.
