ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — According to the jail records, at least 48 people were put into the Pinellas County Jail overnight after being jailed for street racing in the northern part of St. Petersburg.
Between Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Street North and Roosevelt Boulevard, there was a circle of police cars.
No one was hurt, but cops say they are still looking into what happened.
This is just the most recent case of street racing in the bay area.
After a 13-year-old boy died after being hit by a motorbike going more than 100 mph during an illegal race, the St. Petersburg police have been doing more to stop street racing.
After a 9-hour action by the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office in February, nine people were arrested and seven cars were seized.
